DESCRIPTION:
A very hard to find specimen of the classic and beautiful copper-bearing Adamites from the Verkhnii Mine at Dalnegorsk, Russia.
These pieces came out in the 1990s, and were short-lived on the market. They are somewhat similar to the classic Adamites from the Ojuela Mine in Mexico, with their rich colors and fine display specimens.
This piece hosts a pair of spherical aggregates of rich blue-green colored, translucent/gemmy, vitreous Adamite sitting on gossan matrix measuring up to 1.6 cm across.
The Adamites GLOW with color when backlit. Very attractive material, from an unlikely locality, as Dalnegorsk is better known for its sulfides, Fluorite, Quartz and Calcite specimens.
From the collection of Kurt Hefendehl (#474 RU), a well-known German collector all over Europe with worldwide contacts to dealers and collectors.
