When it comes to fine crystallized specimens of Aquamarine, Pakistan is the most productive country for specimens in the last 30+ years. The Shigar Valley has been the source of some amazing quality Aquamarine specimens, found in various pegmatites throughout the area.
This piece a sharp, glassy, gemmy, soft blue color, hexagonal, doubly-terminated, stout, prismatic crystal of Aquamarine with minor crystals of white bladed Albite and prismatic, translucent, hexagonal crystals of Quartz on the upper portion.
I can see a few scattered bladed silvery Muscovite crystals on the back of the piece as well. The upper termination has attractive first order pyramidal modifications, while the bottom of the crystal appears to have possibly re-crystallized ("re-healed") where it detached from the pocket wall.
The piece is in good shape, despite a few small imperfections. A very attractive, good quality gem crystal display specimen from this famous Pakistani pegmatite district.
