DESCRIPTION:
Here we have a large miniature / small cabinet sized of the classic "rosette"-shaped groups of Azurite from Oumjrane, featuring sharp, lustrous, dark blue bladed crystals on all sides. This is a good quality piece, and nearly a complete "floater", as there is only one small point of attachment on the back .
It is very difficult for collectors to obtain fine quality specimens of this material today.
This specimen was mined circa mid 2000s. A great specimen for any collector, a collector of Moroccan classics, or anyone who appreciates secondary ore minerals.
From the collection of Vasco Trancoso, a medical doctor and prominent mineral collector from near Lisbon, Portugal (https://www.mindat.org/user-11954.html). He assembled his mineral collection over the course of 60 years, and built a fine worldwide display collection that we recently purchased.
