DESCRIPTION:
A classic specimen of Conichalcite from the famous Gold Hill Mine in Utah featuring a rich coverage of strong green colored, botryoidal aggregates on matrix. A tiny amount of pale grey-blue colored Halloysite can be seen in spots for a nice touch. These are some of the best Conichalcite specimens from any US locality.
From the collection of Robert (Bob) Reynolds (#RR0740). Bob was a well-known fossil and mineral expert and former Curator of Earth Sciences at the San Bernardino County Museum in California. The rare phyllomanganate-chromate species Reynoldsite was named in his honor in 2011.
