An impressive, large and stout tabular gem lilac kunzite crystal enhanced with a striking rounded termination from the well-known Pech pegmatites. The broad, tabular prism faces are well-striated with super-high waxy luster. The edge prism faces are water-clear. The C-axis shot of the termination dramatically highlights the rich lilac color of this gem beauty. Complete all-around and nearly pristine. A couple of contacts, where other crystals once lay, have no damage, per se and two spots of minimal edge wear are noted, but are certainly very minimal detractions to this classic, excellent and large gem Pech kunzite. Excellent cutter material. Mass is 325 grams.

APPROXIMATE SIZE: 12.5 x 4.7 x 2.3 cm

WEIGHT: 325 grams

Kunzite is a beautiful gemstone variety of the mineral spodumene that is prized for its delicate shades of pink to violet color. The large Kunzite gems from Afghanistan are highly valued by collectors and enthusiasts for their size and beauty.

Kunzite was named after the famous gemologist and mineralogist George Frederick Kunz, who first described the gemstone in 1902. It is found in several locations around the world, including Afghanistan, Brazil, Madagascar, and the United States. Afghanistan is known for producing some of the largest and most vibrant Kunzite gems.

The large Kunzite gems from Afghanistan can weigh several hundred carats and are often cut into impressive faceted shapes, such as cushions, ovals, or emerald cuts. These gems can display a range of hues from pale pink to intense violet, with the most prized specimens having a pure, vibrant color.

Kunzite is believed to have several healing properties and is used in alternative healing practices such as meditation and energy work. It is said to promote feelings of love, compassion, and empathy, and to help balance the emotions and open the heart chakra.

When selecting a large Kunzite gem from Afghanistan, it is important to consider factors such as color, clarity, and size. High-quality Kunzite gems will have an even color, good transparency, and few inclusions or blemishes. The gemstone is often used in fine jewelry pieces such as rings, pendants, and earrings, and can be a stunning addition to any gemstone collection.
